Fundraising Campaign to beat COVID-19 | Philippines

Every day, I wake up thinking about work – the things that I need to get done during my shift. How can I be effective in what I do?

Every day, I laugh with my mother while having our morning coffee, thinking “ano na naman kaya uulamin natin?”

Every day, I look forward to weekends so I can finally watch a new episode of It’s Okay Not To Be Okay.

Every day, it is easy to forget what is happening outside because I am home and I am safe.

But I do not want to forget.

I have been working from home for two years now. The pandemic really didn’t change my routine, except the fact that I do the groceries now because there is no way I will let my mother out there with people who do not know how to follow the “new normal”.

Other than that, my life goes on as it usually does.

But not for my father who works in a hospital. We do not have a car; he uses his bike instead — from Angono to Pasig. Not for my frontliner friends and relatives who need to brave the commute to get to their offices. Not for many others who lost their jobs and those who are trying to earn online to get by.

Every day, I am really grateful.

But every day, I am also sad, mad, and afraid.

I know I have to channel all these emotions at some point. 2022 is still too far ahead, let us all do something now.

So with the help of friends and a couple of people with good hearts, we decided to use our platform to raise our voice, to resist, to make a change.

And that platform is through our community, 5 Seconds of Summer Philippines. Since our inception in 2013, we have been trying to fight the stigma on fangirls and fanboys — that we are not just crazy people who spend a ridiculous amount of money over concert tickets and merch or overly dramatic shizz who cry over artists who do not even know we exist.

Over the years, we have done a couple of charity events that I am really proud of and I want to continue doing that. For two consecutive years, we did feeding programs in Gentle Hands Inc.

When Super Typhoon Yolanda struck us, we also participated in Operation Tulong Express.

And now, we, the Filipino 5SOSFAM, are asking for your help in donating and spreading awareness about Habitat for Humanity‘s #TogetherWeRise campaign. This non-profit organization aims to help Filipino families overcome the crisis through building safe, decent homes and sustainable communities.

With everything that is going on around the world, it is hard to feel safe even in the comfort of our homes. So imagine those who do not even have a place to stay?

I hope you can donate and help us spread the word. 🙏✨ You can donate as low as PHP50 ($1) or lower. Remember, any amount goes a long way.

Donate here:

Donating is really simple and secure. The money will directly go to Habitat for Humanity Philippines. All details are already in the link above, but if you have any questions, kindly leave me a message/comment down below. Thank you!

(I know it’s been a while since the last time I was here. There are many things I want to write about, but words won’t come. Hehe But I hope you all are safe. <33 Talk to you again soon.)
