I am very much single so obviously I don’t really give a big deal out of this day. I’d still want to greet you all, though. HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY! If you are in a relationship, I hope you spent it really sweet and loving. If you are not, please do not think you are less worthy just because. If you didn’t receive anything like flowers or chocolates or whatever, that is okay, too! Your value doesn’t amount on those.
I actually blocked some people on Twitter who are too troll or bitter over this celebration. I mean, if you don’t want to celebrate, then don’t. Let the happy couples live their lives. Also, if you are one of those people who keep nagging others why they are not in a relationship yet, just stop. I hope you all get what I mean. It is okay to celebrate love! Single or not—in whichever way.
Okay, that started off a little preachy. Hahahaha I think this is my answer to the writing prompt I was given.
“Good things about spending Valentine’s Day when you are single”
I don’t think single people celebrate it as much as those in a relationship. It is just a normal day for the most of us. I don’t really think I can say the good things. I just spent it the way I would in any other day. But, with a little twist because something really funny happened today. HAHAHAHAHA!
I wasn’t working on articles last night that I was able to sleep. I woke up around 9 in the morning and I had a very nice breakfast. Sinangag and salami, anyone? And nothing beats a good cup of coffee! Love yourself, friends.
I forgot what I was supposed to do for the day and I wasn’t even sure why I checked my Instagram. My last post was January 1st. LOL Then, I saw that Bianca commented on one of my photos!!! I’ve already mentioned that she is my favorite Thought Catalog writer and she thanked me for doing a review of her book: Seeds Planted in Concrete. I’M SO HAPPY! I mean, sHe rEALLy tOOk tIMe tO loOk uP My pRoFile!!! Who does that???
I suddenly felt ashamed how my blog looks like. I don’t know? Hahahaha I saw on my Status page that there is 1 view on that review and 1 click on my Instagram. That was probably her, right? I thought: wow, did she actually read it?
So, I spent the whole day customizing. Again. But, look at it now! I am so happy with the result. I feel bad for the Happy Engineers though because I always run to them for help whenever I change theme. They had to tweak and do CSS codes for me because I really want to keep the coffee palette and not all themes allow you to change colors. ☹️ They are actually still working on it as I type this. I don’t know if it will be done the moment I Publish this. A friend told me I should not feel bad because I’m paying. Still. 😂
I also changed my about page and I think it really sums up what this blog is all about. All my links are also there. I’m just really happy! (Lemme me know what you think of this new set up!) [EDIT: It’s different now. I keep changing it LOL]
That was just what I did the whole day. I only took a break when my brother brought a cake! Here comes the funny story!
I felt so touched because he was giving something for me on Valentine’s Day and that rarely happens. I was giddy and all but when I opened the box, the heart-shaped chocolate cake was for someone else! It says “Happy Valentine’s Day, *insert his girl’s name*” HAHAHAHAHA! He is in LDR and I was like “why would I eat this if it’s not mine?” and he was like “It’s not as if *** can eat it. Should I send it to Australia?” BOY. HAHAHAHAHA! I ended up eating it, anyway. 🤷♀️
I don’t know why I really find it funny. Hopia kasi? Hahahaha! So, what is your story? How did you spend your Valentine’s Day? It’s not too late to buy me a coffee. 😅
Sending you hearts and love ~
