POETRY | HAIKU OF COFFEE

first cup of coffee
the sky glows in pastel pink
sigh of contentment

two more swigs at noon
the sun burning bright above
sigh of restlessness

cup after more cups
the leaves falling helplessly
sigh of surrender

last cup for the day
as the moon shows up at night
bed is still unmade

1 in the morning
caffeine running through the veins
heart is wide awake

it’s already three
sleep is nowhere to be found
write something instead

From this day on, I decided to write in different types of poetry rather than just free verse. This is my first poor attempt in haiku. I hope you like it? Please let me know so I can learn where to improve my writings. I would really appreciate it 🙂

vienna is a highly caffeinated writer who aspires to make a difference through her words; if she's not writing, she's probably reading books and fangirling over Bangtan.
