POETRY | THANK YOU FOR LEAVING

I found myself doing things
I didn’t know I’m capable of
And I’d like to thank you for leaving
If you didn’t, I wouldn’t be so desperate
To divert my thoughts to other things

I found myself living in the moment
I no longer rush finishing my errands
Just to see you sooner than later
And I’d like to thank you for leaving
As I’ve learned how to value my own moment

I found myself smiling genuinely
This time, it’s not the thought of you
And I’d like to thank you for leaving
If you didn’t, I wouldn’t be able to
Appreciate everything more genuinely

I found myself whole again
Or maybe I didn’t really get broken
Perhaps, I was just bended
And I’d like to thank you for leaving
For I can now fall in love again
